What is microdermabrasion?
Our microdermabrasion skin care equipment uses a hand piece to gently vacuum crystals onto the surface of the skin and resurface the superficial layers of the skin. As the crystals contact the skin, they remove old, dead, and flaking skin cells and exfoliate and polish the skin beneath. Is Microdermabrasion painful?

Microdermabrasion is non-invasive and pain-free. At the most, sensitive skin might experience a sensation resembling a light sunburn or windburn. The treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes, and you can resume your normal activities immediately.

 

How many treatments do I need to see a difference?

Quite often, microdermabrasion benefits are apparent after only one treatment, although additional treatments are necessary to achieve the desired results.

 

What should I do prior to the treatment?

24 hours prior to your appointment, stop aggressive skin exfoliation products including Retin A and Renova. If you have any questions regarding specific skin care products, please call the spa and speak to our aesthetician.

 

What should be done post-treatment?

A moisturizer and a sunscreen are applied to the skin prior to leaving. Avoid direct sun exposure for 7 days after a microdermabrasion and always wear a high-quality sun screen. Avoid products with glycolic or salicylic acids and exfoliation scrubs for 72 hours after treatment. Make-up may be applied immediately after treatment; however, you may wish to experience the clean fresh glow of your skin.
